Born in Ubberud, Funen, Denmark, MØ is a Danish singer and songwriter.
MØ signed to Sony Music Entertainment and has been compared to electro-pop artists such as Grimes and Twin Shadow. Her professional name, MØ, is the initials of her middle and last name. The word MØ means “maiden” or “virgin” in Danish. Her debut album, No Mythologies to Follow released in March 2014. She has collaborated with Australian rapper Iggy Azalea in the 2014 single “Beg For It”, where she earned her first entry into the Billboard Hot 100. In 2015, she featured on the Major Lazer and DJ Snake single “Lean On”, which peaked at number 1 in Australia, number two in the UK, and number four in the United States.
